Chala Yancy, violin

Chala Yancy, originally from Houston, TX, enjoys a diverse career as a violinist in New York City. Being the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, as well as a finalist and prizewinner in several competitions, Ms. Yancy has performed throughout the United States, France, Venezuela and Brazil. She has also worked with R&B artists Alicia Keys, Kanye West and John Legend, reggae artist Beres Hammond, and Israeli artist David Broza. Ms. Yancy holds degrees from New York University and the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Mark Steinberg of the Brentano String Quartet and Lucie Robert. Currently, she is the concertmaster of the Harlem Symphony Orchestra.
