Youth Speaks!

Youth of all ages, ethnic and racial backgrounds can interact in a wide range of programs that are designed to be educational, innovative and most of all, fun!  Whether your students are in grade school, high school or at the collegiate level, our residency programs are designed and equipped to serve your students’ needs.


Selected Workshops and Seminars


Strings Come Alive!

Students will have the chance in this workshop to try the various stringed instruments in our “Instrument Petting Zoo.”  Whether your student is curious or highly considering whether or not to play a stringed instrument, your child will definitely know and feel what it’s like to hold a real violin and bow!

Arts Management 101

A guide to having a successful marketing and promotional materials such as a press packet, artistic resume, headshots, interviews, and business cards.

The Competition Bug

Competition – we all face it as musicians and artists.  What do you do when you decide you want to advance to the next level and how do you prepare?  This seminar will teach you how to prepare more effectively whether you are auditioning for music schools, competitions or contests.

Art and Music Come Together

What do you visualize when you hear music?  Do you think about a trip to the stars or do you imagine being the most amazing cellist in the world?  This Music Imagery Seminar will enhance your imaginary skills to think well beyond the music while painting a picture of what your world would be really like when listening to music.

The Real Life of a Young Eight Musician?

Ever imagine what life is really like as a musician of The Young Eight?  Speak to members of The Young Eight about how to juggle their concert schedules with school, work and personal lives and you’re in for a treat!  This seminar will teach you how to focus and maintain your schedule while having a million other things to do!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Being a young person in today’s society, one may face a lot of challenges such as is music for me?  Am I really talented?  How do I get better as a musician?  This seminar will inspire you and speak about self-esteem issues musicians deal with when making the decision on whether to pursue music further in education or as a career.

Dynamic Music Day

Enjoy an entire day of rehearsals, coaching, master classes and lessons with members of The Young Eight.  Students will have the opportunity to interact with each other and receive feedback from members of The Young Eight that will help create an exciting learning experience for all!
